Job Description

The **Assistant HEMM Foreman** supports the HEMM foreman in the daily safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the mechanical workshop and field maintenance activities. The role ensures that preventive and corrective maintenance of heavy earthmoving equipment (HEMM) is carried out according to manufacturer specifications, safety standards, and company procedures.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, scheduling, and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance for HEMM.
  • Supervise technicians and mechanics during equipment repair, overhaul, and inspection.
  • Assist in diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults using diagnostic tools and test equipment.
  • Ensure the dismantling, repair, and reassembly of equipment using appropriate tools and lifting devices.
  • Verify the quality of completed repairs through testing and inspection before the equipment is released.
  • Monitor housekeeping, tool control, and workshop cleanliness.
  • Ensure compliance with hse rules, safe work procedures, and lock‑out/tag‑out practices.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, job cards, and service reports.
  • Assist in identifying spare parts requirements and controlling spare usage.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and oem instructions.
  • Perform any other duty assigned by your hierarchy.
