Job Summary
We seek a proactive, results-driven Commercial Manager to assist the Agency Manager with commercial activities and administrative duties. The successful candidate will oversee a portfolio of clients (merchants and economic operators), drive business growth, and perform credit analysis and follow-up while helping meet the agency’s goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial Management & Credit Activities
- Analyze credit requests from merchants and economic operators.
- Conduct initial negotiations on credit terms with clients.
- Prepare and submit credit files to the Agency Manager.
- Follow up on credit files until finalization.
- Monitor the recovery of granted credits and ensure timely follow-up.
- Identify and assess credit risks and propose mitigation measures.
- Business Development & Operations
- Assist the Agency Manager with commercial promotion and activities.
- Prospect new clients (merchants and economic operators) for account opening and credit opportunities.
- Arrange meetings between prospects and management when needed.
- Manage and monitor the agency’s Small Business channels.
- Support the tracking of commercial targets and team performance.
- Organize performance review meetings upon the Agency Manager’s request.
- Assist in opening and closing the agency as required.
- Act as backup for the Agency Manager in their absence.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the Agency Manager.
Requirements
Education and Experience
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree (Bac+3) in Management, Business Administration, or Commercial Management.
- At least 3 years of experience in the banking sector.
Technical Skills
- Strong financial analysis and credit risk assessment skills.
- Knowledge of administrative and basic accounting processes (checks, payroll, reconciliation).
- Proven sales, prospecting, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to monitor activities and track performance against objectives.
Personal Qualities
- Strong sense of responsibility and ability to manage operations in the Manager’s absence.
- Proactive with strong negotiation and persuasion skills.
- Team player with excellent collaboration abilities.
- High level of discipline, organization, and commitment.
- Good analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Must be from Maroua and able to speak the local language (Foulfouldé).
