Effective communication, stakeholder engagement, and public visibility are essential to strengthening institutional credibility, fostering public understanding, promoting accountability, and ensuring support from government counterparts, donors, beneficiaries, media, and the general public.
Job Title
Administrative Assistant – Communication
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide administrative, logistical, clerical and operational support to the Communication Unit.
- Assist in the organization of communication activities, events, meetings, visibility initiatives, digital content management, media monitoring, record keeping, and administrative coordination.
- Support the efficient implementation of communication and public information activities throughout the Country Office.
Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma with three years of relevant experience; or
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or related fields from an accredited institution with one year of relevant professional experience.
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams).
- Good administrative and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and filing systems.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work with accuracy under tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Service-oriented attitude and willingness to learn.
Languages
IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish. For this position, fluency in English and French is required (oral and written).
